Spiderhead Trailer: Chris Hemsworth’s New Film Where He Plays A Psychotic Villain

“Spiderhead” is an upcoming science fiction thriller flick starring Chris Hemsworth, Miles Teller and Jurnee Smollet. Chris will be playing an evil pharmaceutical scientist in this new film, which certainly is a lot different than his usual roles.

‘Spiderhead’ Trailer

The trailer starts off slow with almost an informercial like feel narrated by Chris himself. Then as time goes on things begin to ramp up even more. It all goes to hell as soon a drug is administered to some of the inmates. First we see how it seems to influence their emotion somehow. But later we see the drug might have some fatal consequences as well.

What is ‘Spiderhead’ about?

The film follows Jeff and Rachel, two inmates that meet each other in a state-of-the-art penitentiary. What’s special about this futuristic prison is that Steve a pharmaceutical scientist has access to the inmates of this prison. He uses the inmates as lab rats for his drugs in the name of science and humanity.

The film is based on a 2010 New Yorker short story by George Saunders and is directed by Joseph Kosinski best-known for Tron: Legacy and Oblivion. From what we have seen, the film looks like a dark comedy with Chris Hemsworth being the main point of interest as the charismatic insane villain.

‘Spiderhead’ release date

The film is slated for release on June 17, 2022. And it will not be a theatrical release since it will be going straight to Netflix. You can check out the official page right here.
