Rick And Morty Anime Announced By Adult Swim

“Rick And Morty” is sci-fi animated comedy series created by industry maestros Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon. While the show is popular for its insane and out of this world storylines, no one could have expected to one day see a Rick and Morty anime series.

You read that right, a new separate anime show is being made as part of the Rick and Morty franchise. This is some really unexpected news and we’ll talk more about it in detail down below.

Rick and Morty anime announcement

The announcement was made by Adult Swim themselves for two of their upcoming anime series. One of them being the one we’re talking about and an action anime called “Ninja Kamui.” While we don’t know much about either, we can’t help but be really excited for both.

While we’re talking about exciting announcements, another one might have gone under your radar. “Spiderhead” is an upcoming new Netflix dark comedy film starring Chris Hemsworth as the main antagonist. If you’re interested you can check out the trailer right here.

What is the Rick And Morty anime about?

We don’t know the plot of the series but if you know anything about the main series, you know the plot really doesn’t matter. The series itself follows an independent episodic formula that occasionally follows a multi-episode storyline. So the anime can be about virtually anything.

However, we do know that the 10 episode series is being helmed by Takashi Sano. Although he is known as the Tower of God, he has also dabbled in the Rick and Morty franchise. The very anime like aesthetic “Rick and Morty vs. Genocider” and “Summer Meets God (Rick Meets Evil)” are his works. So maybe you should check them out to get a feel for the upcoming anime.

That’s all we have for today. Are you a fan of the main animated series? Do you think this anime will be somehow connected? Let us know your thoughts and expectations in the comments below.
